CTI Squared (CTI²), a leading developer and provider of communications and messaging solutions for carriers and service providers, today announced that Italian telecommunications provider FASTWEB - Italy's largest alternative broadband telecommunications operator and the first player worldwide to develop an all IP network for Triple Play service delivery (voice, data, video) - is using CTI²'s InTouch platform as the basis for an advanced voicemail and unified messaging services.
CTI² is providing FASTWEB with next generation Voicemail and Unified Messaging capabilities, including a TV client for messaging via interactive TV (iTV) and a Web client. FASTWEB, a successful Triple-Player provider with 500,000 subscribers, has already rolled out the InTouch services to business and residential customers.
The iTV interface is unique as it provides mailbox monitoring while watching TV. The subscriber is alerted by on-line notification of the mailbox status when a new message arrives. Then, by a click of a button on the TV remote control, the subscriber may surf the mailbox and listening to the selected message.
"We selected InTouch because it meets all our needs for a scalable, robust messaging solution that will continue to support emerging services over the long-term," said Guido Garrone, CTO at FASTWEB. "CTI² was very responsive in offering an innovative, cost-effective solution customized to our requirements."
InTouch combines a wide range of value added service capabilities within a single open, telco-grade, IP and standards based platform. This enables FASTWEB to offer selected services to specific customer groups, and to easily add third-party applications and new services. InTouch's unique architecture ensures seamless integration with existing systems and applications and provides a robust infrastructure for future enhanced services.
Erez Marom, CEO of CTI² commented: "As one of the more innovative providers of broadband communication services in Europe, FASTWEB is considered a market trendsetter. Its selection and successful rollout of the advanced voicemail and unified messaging services proves the value of our Next Generation messaging services availability and our capability for cooperation with system integrators."
