CTI Squared (CTI²), a leading developer of communications and messaging solutions for carriers, service providers and enterprises announced that Bezeq, the Israeli telecommunications corporation, has signed a contract to purchase CTI²’s InTouch™ communications and messaging platform. The framework agreement is for up to one million mailboxes. Initially, Bezeq plans to transition its voice mail customers to the new platform and expand it to offer unified communication services, under the name of OneMail. The voicemail migration represents a new trend where a tier 1 carrier is replacing its entire voicemail deployment for a next generation IP based platform.
InTouch will replace aging voicemail systems from Comverse and Telrad. CTI² and Bezeq are entering a long-term partnership that will enable Bezeq to develop and offer new messaging services to its residential and business customers and to better compete in the deregulated telecom service provider market.
For CTI², Bezeq is its first Tier 1 customer. Bezeq is also the first service provider to license CTI²'s InTouch, a new value-added services platform that includes a robust suite of all-inclusive services that can be implemented incrementally and targeted at specific audiences such as residential users or business subscribers and enterprises and corporations.
“CTI²'s InTouch platform gives us the flexibility we need as market conditions and user demands change,” said Yosi Yakar, CPO at Bezeq. “With this one platform we are able to choose from a variety of value-added applications -- for consumers and businesses. We are also able to replace our legacy voicemail with next generation services and incrementally roll out more enhanced value added services including unified messaging. We are confident that these capabilities will help us increase our average return per user while significantly lowering the cost of ownership compared to our former legacy systems. The unified messaging service is a part of Bezeq’s ongoing intention to provide its customers with a variety of advanced services based on cutting edge technology. The unified messaging platform is another pillar in the diversity of value added services Bezeq is supplying to fulfill the convergence of voice and data for its customers. In addition to adding flexibility, the new system will significantly lower Bezeq’s maintenance and operations costs. Because Bezeq can use the mailboxes for any variety of services, it will also simplify its ability to create new services and reduce the need to find new vendors for each new service it wants to implement."
“Our InTouch messaging platform will help Bezeq stay well ahead of their competition,” said Boaz Gruener, vice president of marketing and product management at CTI². “We look forward to a long and rewarding partnership helping them provide the most comprehensive set of value added services available anywhere today.”
CTI²’s standards-based messaging and communications platform enables service providers and enterprises to implement suites of enhanced services in a modular fashion. The platform offers Voicemail, VoicemailPLUS™, Unified Communications, EmailPLUS™, VirtualFax, Email-to-Phone, Virtual Assistant for message delivery and notification, and Find Me - Follow Me (One Number) services, as well as a rich variety of user interfaces such as Web, desktop, Java, WAP, Telephone and Voice activated unified communications clients. These capabilities enable users to receive and reply to messages in real-time from any communications device to any communications device, anywhere, any time.
To provide a solution for Bezeq, CTI² worked closely with its partners:
- IBM Israel, is supplying all the necessary hardware for the trial and implementation, as well as middleware software. IBM is also providing ongoing operational service and support.
- CTI² integrated InTouch with Critical Path's email message store, which serves as the underlying storage for all message types for all applications.
