  CTI² Releases Modular Messaging Platform for SPs

CTI Squared’s (CTI²) InTouch is an IP-based messaging platform that includes a suite of enhanced services applications. It stores email, voicemail, fax, SMS and multimedia messages in a single mailbox. They say it integrates with any message store, including Critical Path, Openwave, Mirapoint, MS Exchange and others. It also interoperates with any cellular, fixed-line, IP and Cable network and integrates with billing and operations and support systems (OSS).

One key they're promoting upon launch is the fact that they've “unbundled its unified communications offering into separate applications. These applications are easier to sell by the service provider, easier to understand and use by their subscribers, leverage previous infrastructure investments, and provide a faster Return on Investment (ROI).”

For example, one of the unbundled applications is Voicemail-PLUS. It replaces legacy voicemail platforms and also offers additional benefits such as visual access to voicemails via Web, WAP, MMS, 2.5/3G smart phones with J2ME clients, wireless PDAs, as well as enhanced call management and message notification capabilities.

“One size does not fit all,” claimed Boaz Gruener, vice president of marketing and product management of CTI². “With InTouch, service providers are able to pick-and-choose the services that make sense to their business situation and user needs.”

The things they can pick-and-choose from:

  • OPEN-Voicemail-- an IP-based alternative to legacy systems;
  • Voicemail-PLUS -- again, the Next Generation Voicemail with visual access;
  • Email-Plus -- an upgrade to existing email service, providing a package of applications and enhanced user interfaces for mobile access;
  • Virtual-Fax -- provides a virtual fax number and desktop fax services;
  • Unified Communications -- One mailbox for all message types together;
  • Multimedia Messaging -- integrated multimedia MMS messaging, voice, text picture, and video as an extension of email and mobile messaging.

InTouch applications also include Message Delivery and Notification service, Find Me - Follow Me and Single Number Reach, Mobile-Mail and other customized services. They says it lets service providers offer hosted services to corporate customers using the same platform. Services in this case would include unified communications, voicemail, fax, email and calendar services.
